Thomas O’Brien
I've been neglecting my blog the past few weeks, so to get back in the swing of things, I'd like to share my recent fascination with Thomas O'Brien. There's a lot more to his design than the Vintage Modern line for Target. His home was just featured in House & Garden & I'd have to say that I now want my home to look like his. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I guess the things I love most about his place are:
(1) The colors which are so classic and elegant. A mix of neutrals...graphite, white, & earthy browns with ethereal blues...navy, cerulean, & aquamarine.
(2) The stuff he has - where can I get a vintage celestial chart? I love the gorgeous Nakashima wood dining table, the burl wood wardrobe, Eva Zeisel pottery & Reed & Barton glassware of his design (which is coming out Fall 2007 - couldn't find it on their website yet). I'm surprised at the amount of stuff he has, he's no minimalist, but it all works together. And, I just spotted the adorable siamese kitty, which is camouflaged in this home. Can you find it?
(3) The overall feel of his home, which is modern, but has this comfortable historic feel. That is O'Brien's signature.
